He spun around and brutally kicked the nearest guard in the knee.
The sickening crunch of bone echoed through the study.
Using his free hand, Luke drew a suppressed pistol from his waistband.

"They're going to kill us all!" I panicked as we ran down a long, opulent hallway.
"I didn't know she would go this far," Luke gasped, checking corners as we moved.
"I fell in love with you, Clover."
"That's why I ran away when you got pregnant."
"I was trying to hide you from her."
I wanted to hit him, to scream at him for ruining my life.

Alarms began to blare throughout the massive estate.
Heavy steel shutters violently slammed down over all the windows.
"The house is in lockdown," Luke groaned in despair.
A hissing sound started to emanate from the air vents above us.
A thick, sweet-smelling white gas began pouring into the corridor.

"Nerve agent," Luke whispered, his eyes wide with pure terror.
We were trapped in a steel box, and we were about to suffocate.
