Chapter 10 - The True Heir

The flashing lights of the police cruisers illuminated the beautiful night sky outside the Solmere Hotel.

Charlotte stood on the grand marble steps, watching the authorities shove Richard and Victoria into separate armored vans.

The wicked socialite who had dragged her across the floor was now weeping uncontrollably in heavy chains.

Richard did not say a single word; he simply stared at Charlotte with cold, dead eyes until the metal doors slammed shut.

The nightmare that had haunted Charlotte for two devastating years was finally over.

Marcus walked out of the lobby, his bruised face breaking into a wide, genuine smile.

"The building is completely secure, Miss Vale, and the staff is awaiting your orders," he announced proudly.

Charlotte looked at the towering glass skyscraper that belonged entirely to her once again.

She had successfully defended her mother's incredible legacy and avenged her tragic death.

Eleanor walked up beside her, wrapping a warm, comforting arm around Charlotte’s tired shoulders.

"You fought like a true warrior tonight, my dear," Eleanor said softly.

"Tomorrow, the entire world will know that Charlotte Vale is the strongest CEO in the industry."

They spent the next few hours clearing the hotel of Richard's corrupt loyalists and restoring absolute order.

Charlotte felt a profound sense of peace as she walked through the spotless marble lobby without having to hide her face.

She was no longer the broken victim; she was the untouchable master of her own incredible destiny.

Exhausted but deeply happy, Charlotte finally took the private elevator back up to the penthouse suite to rest.

She pushed open the heavy oak doors, looking forward to sitting in her mother's comfortable leather chair.

But as she stepped into the quiet office, she noticed a small, sleek black box resting perfectly in the center of her desk.

Charlotte frowned, walking cautiously toward the desk as a cold chill ran down her spine.

She slowly lifted the lid of the dark box.

Inside rested a tarnished silver coin and a high-resolution photograph of Eleanor violently shaking hands with Julian.

A small, handwritten note was tucked neatly beneath the terrible photograph.

"You trusted the wrong person, little bird," the chilling note read.
