Chapter 6 - The Weightless Fight

The sudden, aggressive plunge of the massive airliner stripped gravity entirely from the passenger cabin.
Everything that was not securely bolted down instantly floated freely into the air.
Open drinks, glossy magazines, and loose carry-on luggage drifted chaotically toward the curved ceiling.
General Vance let out a startled, breathless shout as his expensive boots lost all contact with the carpet.
His tight, aggressive grip on Leo was instantly broken as the small boy floated gently away from him.
Laura used the solid cabin walls to push herself forward exactly like a skilled swimmer moving underwater.
She navigated the floating debris with the precise, practiced agility of a highly trained astronaut.
The general desperately tried to aim his heavy pistol at her rapidly approaching floating form.
Laura grabbed a floating metal beverage cart and kicked it violently toward his face.
The heavy cart slammed directly into his chest, instantly knocking the air completely out of his lungs.
The gun slipped easily from his weakened hand and spun wildly away into the dark cabin.
Laura reached out and successfully grabbed Leo's hand, pulling him securely against her own chest.
Hold on to me as tightly as you can, baby, she whispered reassuringly into his ear.
She wrapped her strong legs around a sturdy passenger seat base to securely anchor them both.
The general struggled furiously to recover, kicking his legs frantically in the confusing weightless environment.
He reached deeply into his jacket pocket and pulled out a small, black remote electronic detonator.
If I cannot successfully crash the plane with the software, I will just blow the cargo doors completely off, he screamed.
Laura knew that a massive explosive decompression at this high altitude would instantly tear the plane apart.
She critically needed to stop him before his thumb could fully press the red trigger button.
The plane suddenly pulled forcefully out of the steep dive, violently restoring gravity to the entire cabin.
Everyone and everything crashed incredibly heavily back down to the carpeted floor.
Laura shielded Leo safely with her own body as they hit the ground hard.
General Vance slammed onto his back, dropping the detonator just a few feet away from his outstretched hand.
He groaned loudly in pain but immediately began crawling desperately toward the small, deadly device.
Laura scrambled frantically to her feet, her right ankle throbbing with a sharp, blinding pain from the fall.
She lunged forward and kicked the detonator as hard as she possibly could.
The device slid rapidly down the long aisle, disappearing completely under a row of passenger seats.
The general roared in pure anger and aggressively tackled Laura back to the ground.
His heavy, calloused hands wrapped tightly around her throat, ruthlessly choking the life out of her.
You always ruin absolutely everything, Viper, he hissed directly into her turning blue face.
May you like
Laura desperately clawed at his strong hands, her vision rapidly beginning to fade to complete black.
Suddenly, a incredibly loud gunshot echoed violently through the confined space of the rear galley.
