Chapter 4 - The Hostage Protocol
The sparkling charity gala was now an impenetrable, claustrophobic fortress of solid steel and reinforced glass.
The wealthy guests who had tried to flee were now trapped, screaming hysterically against the heavily locked exit doors.
Marcus Voss completely lost his arrogant smile as he frantically checked his encrypted, dead cellular device.
"You just locked us inside a steel cage with a desperate madman holding a gun," Marcus shouted angrily at Aria.
Aria smoothly adjusted Leonard's heavy coat on her shoulders and stepped bravely closer to the terrified security chief.
"The virus I just uploaded has completely wiped your offshore bank accounts out of existence, Marcus," Aria announced clearly.
Selena screamed in sheer, absolute panic, realizing her endless supply of limitless wealth was completely and permanently gone.
David suddenly realized with a sickening dread that he was never going to get the ten million dollars he was promised.
He aggressively turned his heavy weapon away from Aria and aimed it directly at Marcus's expensive chest.
"You lied to me about the money, you pathetic, manipulative fraud," David screamed in blind, uncontrollable rage.
Before David could even pull the heavy trigger, the massive glass skylight directly above the ballroom shattered violently inward.
Four men dressed in full black tactical gear rappelled rapidly down thick ropes into the exact center of the room.
They efficiently disarmed David with brutal force and threw him aggressively to the marble floor in a matter of seconds.
The terrified elite guests dropped flat to the ground, sobbing quietly and praying for their lives as the armed mercenaries took absolute control.
Marcus let out a loud, obnoxious sigh of relief and proudly adjusted his expensive silk tie.
"Did you really think I would come to a hostile corporate takeover without my personal military extraction team?" Marcus sneered confidently.
He cruelly ordered the heavily armed men to grab Aria and physically force her to reverse the devastating computer hack.
The towering, imposing leader of the mercenary team slowly walked toward Aria with his tactical rifle raised high.

He did not grab her at all, but instead turned completely around and aimed his lethal weapon squarely at Marcus Voss.
The mercenary reached up slowly with one gloved hand and completely pulled off his heavy black tactical mask.
