Chapter 6 - The Crash and the Crowd

"The brake lines have been completely cut, we have absolutely no brakes!" Patricia screamed over the roaring engine.
The massive, highly congested intersection was rapidly approaching, filled entirely with heavy commuter buses and civilian cars.
The three black mercenary SUVs were aggressively riding their bumper, violently pushing the small sedan forward toward certain death.
Patricia had less than three seconds to completely alter their fatal trajectory.
She aggressively yanked the heavy emergency handbrake with all her remaining strength and violently violently spun the steering wheel to the right.
The faded blue sedan violently locked its rear tires, aggressively spinning into a massive, uncontrolled drift across the wet asphalt.
They violently careened directly into a narrow, dark brick alleyway, narrowly missing a massive city bus by mere inches.
The sedan aggressively smashed violently into a massive mountain of stacked commercial cardboard boxes and heavy metal dumpsters.
The violent impact violently deployed the airbags, filling the small cabin with thick white smoke and the smell of burning powder.
Patricia groaned loudly, aggressively pushing the deflated airbag away from her bruised face.
"Melissa, are you severely injured?" Patricia coughed, frantically checking on the wealthy woman beside her.
"I am bruised, but I am fully alive," Melissa gasped, desperately clutching the leather bag full of highly incriminating evidence.
They violently kicked their jammed doors open and aggressively stumbled out into the dark, rain-soaked alleyway.
The terrifying screech of heavy tires echoed from the main street as the mercenary SUVs violently skidded to a halt outside the alley.
"We absolutely cannot outrun them on the open streets, we have to disappear into the underground subway," Patricia decided instantly.
They sprinted aggressively out of the dark alley and violently pushed their way into the massive, highly crowded entrance of the central subway station.
The underground station was incredibly packed with thousands of angry, tired commuters rushing home from work.
Patricia and Melissa aggressively blended into the massive sea of moving bodies, strictly keeping their heads down to avoid the security cameras.
"We need to find a highly secure internet connection to completely send these files to the federal authorities," Melissa whispered nervously.
As they aggressively pushed their way toward the heavy metal turnstiles, Melissa accidentally bumped violently into a large commuter.
The heavy leather bag slipped violently from her grasp, spilling the highly classified documents directly onto the dirty station floor.
"Grab the files quickly before someone notices the massive account numbers!" Patricia hissed, dropping to her knees to help.
As Melissa frantically reached out to completely gather the scattered papers, a pair of heavy, highly polished black boots stepped aggressively onto the documents.
Patricia slowly looked up from the dirty floor, completely freezing in sheer, unadulterated terror.
Standing directly over them was a highly decorated, fully uniformed city police captain, his hand resting aggressively on his service weapon.
"You ladies look entirely entirely lost, perhaps you should come with me to the precinct for a highly private conversation," the captain suggested coldly.
Melissa let out a tiny gasp of absolute horror as she closely recognized the captain's bright silver badge number.

"Patricia, do not go anywhere with him, his badge number is completely listed on Thomas's massive bribery payroll ledger," Melissa whispered frantically.
Before Patricia could violently react, the corrupt police captain aggressively drew his heavy weapon and pointed it directly at Melissa's chest.
