Chapter 5 - The Garage Shootout

Patricia instantly slammed her hand violently against the "Door Close" button, but the elevator controls were completely dead.
"Nobody move a single muscle, or we will absolutely tear this elevator apart with bullets," the lead mercenary growled menacingly.
The heavily armed men slowly advanced, their tactical flashlights blinding Patricia and Melissa in the small metal box.
"We have to completely surrender, Patricia, they have completely trapped us," Melissa whispered, her voice completely broken with despair.
Patricia’s mind raced fiercely, refusing to allow her husband's ruthless murderers to simply execute them in a dark basement.
She noticed a massive, bright red fire suppression pipe running directly along the low concrete ceiling just outside the elevator.
Without a second thought, Patricia aggressively grabbed Melissa’s leather bag and hurled it violently at the nearest mercenary's face.
As the man reflexively ducked, Patricia lunged forward and forcefully yanked the heavy emergency fire axe from its glass case on the elevator wall.
She aggressively swung the sharp, heavy axe upward, completely severing the massive pressurized water pipe above their heads.
A deafening, highly explosive blast of freezing, high-pressure water violently erupted from the broken pipe, instantly flooding the area.
The massive force of the water completely knocked the frontline mercenaries entirely off their feet, blinding them in a chaotic downpour.
"Run directly toward the employee parking section right now!" Patricia screamed, grabbing Melissa’s arm tightly.
They sprinted wildly through the highly aggressive waterfall, using the massive concrete pillars of the garage as thick shields.
Automatic gunfire erupted violently behind them, the heavy bullets aggressively shattering the windows of parked luxury cars.
"I parked my old sedan in section C, it is our only viable way out of this nightmare," Patricia yelled over the deafening gunfire.
They aggressively dodged between the parked vehicles, sliding dangerously on the flooded concrete floor.
Patricia finally spotted her faded blue sedan, rapidly fumbling in her deep apron pockets for her old car keys.
She unlocked the doors and forcefully shoved Melissa into the passenger seat before diving aggressively behind the steering wheel.
A heavily armored mercenary suddenly jumped completely onto the hood of her car, aiming his rifle directly at the windshield.
Patricia forcefully slammed her foot completely down on the gas pedal, throwing the heavy car violently into reverse.
The sudden, aggressive momentum threw the mercenary violently off the hood, sending him crashing hard onto the wet concrete.
Patricia violently shifted the gears into drive and completely floored the accelerator, the old engine roaring loudly in protest.
They aggressively smashed directly through the heavy wooden security barrier of the garage exit, violently launching into the rainy city streets.
"We actually made it out, Patricia, you completely saved us!" Melissa cried out, looking back at the receding hotel.
"Do not celebrate just yet, we need to completely lose them before we can safely review this stolen evidence," Patricia warned strictly.
She checked her rearview mirror and saw three massive, black SUVs violently tearing out of the garage in aggressive pursuit.
Patricia navigated the highly slick, rain-soaked streets with incredible skill, desperately weaving through heavy evening traffic.
They rapidly approached a highly congested, major city intersection with the traffic light already turning a solid, menacing red.
"You have to stop the car right now, Patricia, there is cross traffic!" Melissa screamed in absolute terror.

Patricia aggressively stomped her foot completely down on the heavy brake pedal, fully expecting the car to stop.
The brake pedal went completely and uselessly to the floor without absolutely any resistance whatsoever.
