Chapter 7 - The Warehouse Meet

Constance was wearing an elegant, full-length fur coat that looked completely absurd in the grimy, industrial setting.

She was surrounded by at least a dozen heavily armed private security contractors.

She smirked arrogantly, completely unfazed by the threat of her son's hit-and-run video being leaked to the press.

I demanded to know where Kieran and Sarah were.

Right on cue, Kieran’s black SUV sped into the warehouse, its tires screeching loudly on the concrete floor.

Kieran dragged my terrified sister out of the backseat, holding his gun firmly against her ribs.

He froze when he saw his mother standing there with a small army of mercenaries.

Kieran aggressively yelled at Constance, asking her what she was doing interfering with his operation.

Constance coldly replied that she was cleaning up his pathetic, sloppy mistakes, just as she had done for his entire life.

She revealed that she had deliberately intercepted my bank vault hoping to find the files, but only found empty tax returns.

She looked at Kieran with absolute disgust, calling him a weak, massive disappointment to the Abernathy legacy.

She calmly ordered her mercenaries to kill everyone in the room, including her own son, to completely tie up all loose ends.

Kieran's eyes widened in sheer horror as he realized his mother truly intended to murder him.

The lead mercenary raised his automatic rifle and took aim directly at my sister's head.

I screamed and lunged forward, desperately trying to shield Sarah with my own body.

A deafening barrage of gunfire suddenly erupted, echoing violently against the corrugated metal walls.

But the bullet did not hit me or my sister.

Kieran had violently shoved us out of the way, taking a lethal bullet directly to his own chest in a final act of desperate rebellion against his mother.
