Chapter 2 - The Locked Doors

Panic instantly erupted inside the luxurious lobby of the Grand Crescent Hotel.

Billionaires and senators slammed their hands against the thick bulletproof glass doors.

Ryan the security guard drew his weapon and pointed it directly at Julian's chest.

"What did you just do?" Ryan screamed.

Julian ignored the gun entirely and walked toward a solid brick wall next to the entrance.

He placed his hand flat against the ordinary-looking red bricks.

A hidden biometric scanner flashed green, and a secret steel door slid open.

Julian stepped inside the building, leaving a bewildered Ryan locked outside on the street.

Inside the lobby, the air was thick with confusion and fear.

Julian walked calmly past the terrified elites who had just been laughing at him.

He stopped in the center of the room and looked up at the grand balcony.

Marcus Vance, the famous tech mogul who organized the summit, stood looking down at the crowd.

Vance gripped the balcony railing and glared at the poorly dressed intruder.

"Security, arrest this homeless fraud immediately!" Vance ordered through a megaphone.

Four heavily armed guards rushed toward Julian with their batons raised.

Julian simply snapped his fingers.

A piercing, high-frequency siren blasted through the room, targeting only the frequencies of the guards' earpieces.

The guards collapsed to the floor in agony, clutching their bleeding ears.

The entire lobby fell dead silent as the siren abruptly stopped.

"You do not give orders in my building, Marcus," Julian said, his voice echoing perfectly without a microphone.

Vance gripped the railing tighter, his face turning pale.

"Your building?" Vance stuttered in disbelief.

Julian looked around at the terrified faces of the most powerful people in America.

"Welcome to my hotel, ladies and gentlemen," Julian announced.

"None of you are leaving until I find out who just murdered the Vice President."
