Chapter 5 - The Mastermind

Grace collapsed into the wooden chair, completely overwhelmed by the terrifying revelation of her family history.
Victoria was not just a greedy corporate rival, but a vengeful relative determined to eradicate Grace’s entire existence.
Nathan closed the laptop, realizing the sheer scale of the conspiracy they were fighting against.
Suddenly, a loud notification pinged on Nathan's burner phone, displaying a live video broadcast from a major news network.
Victoria was standing proudly at a podium outside the police headquarters, wiping fake tears from her perfectly manicured face.
She boldly announced a ten-million-dollar cash reward for the immediate capture of Nathan Cole.
She publicly labeled him a dangerous, unstable murderer who had kidnapped an innocent maid and her child.
Nathan knew every bounty hunter and corrupt cop in the country would now be hunting them for the massive payout.
"We have to prove she fabricated the airport surveillance footage," Nathan stated with absolute determination.
"If we get the raw data from the server, we can prove you never bought those plane tickets."
The only problem was that the master servers were located on the top floor of Cole Industries.
Nathan kissed Grace gently on the forehead and promised Lily he would return very soon.
He left the cabin heavily armed and drove back into the dangerous heart of the city under the cover of darkness.
He successfully bypassed the exterior security patrols of his own skyscraper using his intimate knowledge of the guard rotations.
He climbed sixty flights of stairs to avoid the elevator sensors, his muscles burning with sheer exhaustion.
Nathan finally breached the heavily reinforced doors of the main server room using a stolen master keycard.
He stepped into the massive, freezing room filled with blinking blue server racks.
But he was not alone in the dark room.
Sitting calmly in a leather executive chair, holding the exact server drive Nathan needed, was an older woman.
Nathan raised his weapon, demanding to know who she was and how she bypassed the security grid.
The woman smiled coldly, bearing a striking and terrifying resemblance to Grace.

"My name is Helena Bennett," the woman said smoothly.
Victoria's supposedly deceased mother was actually alive, and she was waiting right there for him.
