Chapter 5 - The Blast Zone

The fiery exhaust of the rocket launcher illuminates the dark runway in a blinding flash.

Viper slams his foot on the brake, spinning the massive SUV into a violent drift.

The explosive projectile screeches past the hood, detonating a fuel truck just fifty yards away.

The shockwave flips the SUV onto its side, sending Hadrian crashing against the reinforced window.

A massive fireball engulfs the tarmac, raining burning debris down on the metal roof.

Hadrian kicks the shattered windshield out and drags himself free from the wreckage.

His ears ring with a deafening pitch as he struggles to regain his balance.

The private jet lifts smoothly into the stormy night sky, carrying his daughter far away.

The mercenary drops the empty rocket tube and draws a heavy combat knife.

He charges through the smoke, swinging the jagged blade directly at Hadrian's throat.

Hadrian ducks under the lethal strike, delivering a crushing blow to the man's ribs.

The mercenary grunts, spinning around to slash Hadrian across the forearm.

Blood instantly soaks Hadrian's sleeve, but the pain only fuels his adrenaline.

He grabs the mercenary's wrist, twists it violently, and drives his knee into the man's chest.

The giant collapses to the concrete, unconscious before he even hits the ground.

Viper limps out of the ruined SUV, holding his bleeding shoulder.

"The jet is gone, Hadrian, we are completely out of time."

Hadrian searches the unconscious mercenary's pockets and finds a scrambled GPS tracker.

He plugs it into Viper's surviving military tablet to extract the flight coordinates.

The screen flickers to life, drawing a red flight path across the digital map.

Hadrian stares at the destination, his blood running completely cold.

"She is taking Sorrel to the rusted offshore oil rig in the Atlantic."

Viper shakes his head, realizing the absolute suicide mission they are facing.

"That rig is a fortress guarded by heavily armed cartels, we will never make it past the radar."

Hadrian ignores the warning, pointing toward an old, beat-up transport helicopter parked near the hangars.

"Get the rotors spinning, because we are flying into the storm right now."

Viper nods, but as he turns around, a laser dot suddenly settles directly in the center of his forehead.
