Chapter 8 - The Setup

Daniel walked out of the public library feeling completely invincible, the cold Chicago air now incredibly refreshing in his lungs.

He had successfully weaponized the mob against the woman who had happily taken his corporate job just yesterday.

He quickly purchased a cheap, completely untraceable prepaid cell phone from a small corner bodega.

He needed to physically watch the entire trap spring shut to ensure Sabrina took the complete fall for the missing millions.

Daniel stole a rusty bicycle from an alleyway and pedaled aggressively toward Sabrina's high-rise luxury building.

He parked across the busy street, hiding carefully behind a massive concrete bus stop shelter to remain entirely unseen.

He checked his cheap digital watch, knowing that Marcus Rossi was an incredibly punctual and highly violent man.

Exactly twenty minutes later, two completely unmarked, heavily tinted black vans violently aggressively pulled up to the front of Sabrina's building.

Six massive men wearing dark suits and heavy winter coats stepped quickly out of the vans.

Daniel watched with a deeply twisted sense of pure satisfaction as the men aggressively bypassed the building's front security desk.

He knew Sabrina was completely trapped in her expensive penthouse, entirely unaware that the mob was coming to collect a fatal debt.

He imagined the absolute look of sheer terror on Sabrina's face when she realized he had completely outsmarted her.

Ten minutes later, the dark suited men aggressively exited the luxury building through a quiet side door.

They were violently dragging Sabrina by her expensive blonde hair, her hands completely tied behind her back with heavy zip ties.

Sabrina was screaming hysterically for help, but the ruthless men aggressively shoved her completely into the back of the black van.

The van doors violently slammed shut, and the heavy vehicles aggressively merged completely into the dense city traffic.

Daniel watched the taillights disappear, knowing absolutely that Sabrina Keller was effectively a dead woman.

He had successfully cleared his dangerous debt with the mob without handing over a single penny of the five million dollars.

He was now an incredibly wealthy, completely free man who had violently survived a catastrophic corporate and marital disaster.

He threw the stolen bicycle into a nearby dumpster and happily hailed a taxi to take him back to Evanston.

He wanted to sit in his empty house and finalize the final digital wire transfer to his secure Swiss account in absolute peace.

The taxi dropped him off, and Daniel casually walked up his driveway, feeling entirely like a completely conquering king.

He unlocked the heavy front door and stepped confidently into the completely empty, heavily echoing living room.

He sat down on the floor, opened his laptop, and happily prepared to completely claim his massive victory.
