Chapter 5 - The Master Plan

Audrey stared at the terrifying glowing screen until her vision completely blurred with heavy tears.
She had actively worked for the criminal underworld for five years but had successfully kept her family entirely separated.
Now, her innocent younger sister was violently paying the ultimate price for her own dangerous career choices.
"I absolutely have to give them the physical book," Audrey cried out with pure desperation.
Adrian immediately grabbed her shaking shoulders and forced her to look directly into his cold eyes.
"If you blindly hand over that ledger, Dante will brutally kill you, your sister, and me," he stated harshly.
"They absolutely need the book as pure leverage, and right now, we do not even have it in our hands."
Audrey wiped her wet face and desperately tried to forcefully calm her racing, panicked heartbeat.
"The bank vault physically opens in exactly three hours," she reminded him with a trembling voice.
"Dante's armed men will definitely be waiting there to heavily ambush us the second we walk inside."
Adrian slowly released her shoulders and took a deep, calculating breath of the freezing night air.
"Then we absolutely will not wait for the bank to officially open its doors," he decided instantly.
"We are going to forcefully rob the First Sterling Bank vault tonight."
Audrey looked at him as if he had suddenly lost his entire mind.
"It is a highly secure fortress with armed guards and advanced biometric scanners," she argued frantically.
"I know," Adrian replied smoothly with a deeply dangerous, arrogant smirk.
"But you are the brilliant accountant who personally designed their entire internal financial auditing system."
He quickly led her out of the dark alley and aggressively hotwired a parked commercial delivery van.
As they drove quickly through the deserted city streets, they rapidly formulated a highly reckless plan.
Audrey would actively hack the main security grid from the outside terminal while Adrian physically eliminated the guards.
They violently crashed the heavy van through the unguarded rear loading dock of the massive bank building.
Adrian smoothly attached a heavy suppressor to his weapon and stepped quietly out of the vehicle.
He completely neutralized three armed security guards with chilling, absolute, and silent efficiency.
Audrey frantically typed highly complex override codes into the main security panel located in the hallway.
The massive, heavily armored steel door of the subterranean vault finally clicked loudly open with a heavy hiss.
They quickly rushed inside the massive, freezing room filled entirely with secure metal boxes.
Audrey desperately used her master override key to quickly pop open box number 402.
She reached her hand deeply inside the dark metal box and pulled out a thick, black leather book.
She finally turned around to hand it to Adrian with a massive sigh of relief.

Adrian suddenly stared completely past her shoulder with a look of pure, unadulterated horror on his face.
The heavy, impenetrable steel vault door was aggressively swinging tightly shut directly behind them.
