The intense and suffocating heat from the burning house violently pushed the police officers backward toward the street.
Margaret watched her beautiful memories and lifelong possessions turn into thick black smoke and gray ash.
Brave firefighters arrived within minutes and aggressively douse the violent flames with incredibly high pressure water hoses.
A police officer spotted Brooke trying to escape through the muddy backyard and fiercely tackled her to the wet grass.
Brooke screamed vicious insults as heavy iron handcuffs were secured tightly around her wrists by the arresting officers.
Margaret walked slowly toward the charred and smoking remains of her beloved front porch with tears in her eyes.
She felt an overwhelming sense of ultimate survival despite the horrific and unforgivable betrayal of her own flesh and blood.
The lead detective carefully approached Margaret holding a half burned metal lockbox recovered from the kitchen debris.
