Chapter 9 - The Ultimate Decoy

Richard collapsed to the metal floor, completely stunned by the sudden and brutal attack.
His silver pistol slid across the rusted deck, stopping just out of his immediate reach.
Ethan turned toward Celeste, his eyes burning with a fierce, unstoppable anger.
The terrified decoy woman in the blonde wig immediately began to cry hysterically.
She confessed that Celeste had kidnapped her family to force her to play this twisted game.
Celeste had used the decoy to secretly drain Clara's private accounts over the past year.
Ethan realized that Clara was truly dead, and Celeste had murdered her without mercy.
Celeste backed away slowly, her arrogant smile finally faltering under Ethan's intense glare.
She desperately searched her trench coat for a weapon, but her hands were completely empty.
Ethan stepped forward, promising to make her pay for everything she had done to his family.
Suddenly, Richard groaned loudly and scrambled across the floor toward his dropped weapon.
He grabbed the pistol and aimed it unsteadily at Ethan's back.
Richard screamed that he was going to end this miserable chase right now.
Ethan froze, realizing he could not dodge the bullet in the narrow metal corridor.
Before Richard could pull the trigger, a loud crash echoed from the ceiling grating above them.
Sophie had silently followed them onto the ship and climbed into the overhead catwalk.
She pushed a heavy wooden shipping pallet completely through the rusted metal grating.
The heavy wood crashed down, striking Richard directly on his shooting arm.
The pistol discharged wildly, sending a stray bullet ricocheting off the steel walls.
Richard screamed in agony as his arm was pinned beneath the heavy wooden pallet.
The silver pistol skittered across the floor and stopped directly at Celeste's feet.
Celeste instantly dropped the trust documents and snatched the gun from the deck.

She pointed the weapon upward, aiming the barrel directly at Sophie on the catwalk.
Celeste smiled with pure evil, declaring that the child was the only thing standing in her way.
