Chapter 9 - The Queen's Return

Eleanor walked slowly down the stairs, her presence commanding absolute, terrifying authority.
The frail, coughing elderly woman from the pool party had completely vanished into thin air.
In her place stood a dangerous, calculating leader who had just outsmarted a greedy billionaire.
"Mother, you are completely fine," Liam breathed out, utterly stunned by her incredible transformation.
"I was never dying, my sweet boy," Eleanor replied smoothly, twirling the silver revolver in her hand.
"I took a preemptive antidote the very moment Cassandra tried to poison my morning tea yesterday."
Eleanor explained that she had brilliantly orchestrated the entire pool incident to push Cassandra's massive ego over the edge.
She knew Cassandra was secretly plotting to steal Liam's company, but she desperately needed undeniable proof.
"By playing the helpless victim, I forced her to execute her hostile takeover prematurely," Eleanor stated firmly.
She reached into her dark coat pocket and pulled out a sleek electronic tablet.
"While she was overly busy torturing you and moving money, my old syndicate hackers completely drained her private trusts."
Eleanor tapped a single red button on the screen, sending a massive data breach file directly to the authorities.
"Every illegal transaction, every dirty bribe, and every assassination order she ever made is now in the hands of the authorities."
Liam waded out of the freezing water, struggling to fully process the immense scale of his mother's grand deception.
"You risked your own life just to expose her?" Liam asked in sheer disbelief.
"I would risk absolutely everything to protect my son," Eleanor said, finally showing a brief glimpse of genuine maternal warmth.
Suddenly, the deafening sound of heavy police sirens wailed in the distance, growing louder by the second.
Red and blue lights flashed violently through the mansion's grand glass windows.
Marcus walked into the mansion through the front door, dragging a completely terrified Cassandra by her arm.
Cassandra saw Eleanor standing tall in her black suit and fell to her knees in pure, utter despair.
"You were supposed to be a weak, pathetic maid!" Cassandra screamed hysterically.
Eleanor walked over to her former daughter-in-law and looked down with absolute disgust.
"A true queen does not need to wear a crown to know she rules the kingdom," Eleanor whispered coldly.
The armed agents stormed through the front doors with their weapons drawn, ordering everyone to freeze.
The lead agent walked straight past Liam and slapped heavy steel handcuffs onto Cassandra's wrists.
As they dragged the screaming billionaire's wife away, the lead agent turned nervously to Eleanor.

"The operation is fully complete, Madam, but there is one major problem," the agent said with a trembling voice.
"Cassandra managed to make one final phone call from the hospital right before we cut the communication lines."
