Chapter 10 - False Dawn

Adrian sprinted out of the vault, fully aware that the twin sister was erasing all loose ends.

He hacked into the city’s air traffic control tower using his phone, searching for unauthorized departures.

A private jet had just filed an emergency flight plan from a small, abandoned airstrip on the edge of town.

Adrian mounted the stolen motorcycle and tore down the highway, pushing the engine to its absolute limit.

He crashed through the rusted chain-link fence of the airstrip just as the twin-engine jet began its taxi sequence.

He drew his gun and shot the front tire of the plane, causing it to swerve violently and collapse onto its wing.

Adrian abandoned the bike and charged up the lowered loading ramp before the mercenaries inside could recover from the crash.

He moved through the cabin like a shadow, taking down three heavily armed guards with brutal, lethal precision.

He found Elias in the cockpit, bleeding heavily from a head wound caused by the crash.

Adrian did not hesitate; he struck his brother across the jaw with the butt of his pistol, knocking him completely unconscious.

He kicked open the door to the VIP lounge, his weapon raised and ready to end the twin sister’s life.

The room was empty, except for little Emma, who was huddled in the corner, clutching her blue princess dress and sobbing.

Adrian lowered his weapon and rushed to the little girl, sweeping her up into a tight, protective embrace.

He buried his face in her thick chestnut curls, feeling an overwhelming surge of victory and relief.

He had lost his empire, his wife, and his brother, but he had saved the innocent child from the madness.

“It’s over, Emma,” Adrian whispered gently, stroking her back. “You are completely safe now, the bad people are gone.”

Emma’s sobbing stopped instantly, her small body going completely rigid in his arms.

She slowly pulled back and looked at him, her enormous hazel eyes completely empty of all fear and emotion.

She reached her tiny hand deep into the hidden pocket of her dress.

She pulled out a small, silver titanium syringe filled with a glowing green liquid.

Before Adrian could react, Emma slammed the needle directly into the main artery of his neck, pushing the plunger down with terrifying strength.

“Mommy says you are expired, Grumpy,” she whispered in a cold, robotic voice of a perfectly trained assassin.
