Chapter 10 - The Ultimate Betrayal

Gavin stared at the sparkling brooch on my lapel, his arrogant smile completely vanishing.

"What did you just say?" Gavin demanded, his voice cracking with sudden panic.

I smiled, a genuine, victorious smile that radiated absolute confidence.

"This brooch is a high-definition, cellular broadcasting camera," I explained smoothly.

"I have been live-streaming this entire conversation directly to the FBI and the SwiftFreight board of directors."

Gavin's eyes widened in sheer, unfiltered horror.

He had just confessed to extortion, kidnapping, and murder on a federal live feed.

"Kill her!" Gavin screamed to his mercenaries, completely losing his mind.

Before a single mercenary could raise their weapon, the concrete walls of the garage seemed to explode.

Dozens of heavily armed FBI agents and tactical SWAT units poured out of the stairwells and elevators.

Blinding spotlights hit Gavin's face, forcing him to drop his weapon instantly.

"FBI! Drop your weapons and get on the ground!" a commander roared through a megaphone.

The mercenaries immediately threw their guns away and surrendered to the overwhelming force.

Gavin tried to run toward his sedan, but two agents tackled him violently to the concrete floor.

They ripped his arms behind his back and slapped heavy steel handcuffs onto his wrists.

"You set me up!" Gavin shrieked like a wild animal as they dragged him away.

"Enjoy prison, Gavin," I whispered, watching my abuser finally lose his kingdom forever.

Agents quickly freed Charlotte, who wept tears of profound gratitude as paramedics checked her injuries.

I handed the briefcase of evidence to the lead FBI agent, ensuring Gavin would never see daylight again.

I had completely won.

I had saved my father's legacy, destroyed my enemy, and secured my own future.

I walked back to my waiting SUV, feeling completely exhausted but wonderfully triumphant.

Julian stepped out and opened the rear door for me with a polite, respectful bow.

"Excellent work tonight, Ms. Miller," Julian congratulated me quietly.

I nodded tiredly and slid into the luxurious back seat of the vehicle.

The door slammed shut behind me, plunging the cabin into silence.

I turned to place my purse on the seat next to me, and my heart instantly stopped beating.

I was not alone in the back seat.

My father was sitting there in the shadows, sipping a glass of expensive whiskey and looking perfectly healthy.

There were no tubes, no monitors, and absolutely no signs of a heart attack.

He smiled at me, but his eyes were completely dead and remarkably cold.

"You did very well, Sabrina," my father said smoothly, taking a slow sip of his drink.

"Pinning my massive, illegal embezzlement scheme on Gavin's arrogance was the perfect distraction for the feds."

I stared at him in absolute, paralyzing horror as the truth finally clicked into place.

My father tapped on the glass partition, signaling to the front seat.

"Now, Julian," my father commanded without looking away from me.

"Please eliminate my daughter, she knows entirely too much."
