PART 1:

The coming-of-age story of a beggar boy.
The coldest thing in the city wasn’t the weather.
It was the way people walked past two hungry boys sitting alone on the sidewalk as if they didn’t exist.
Wrapped in a thin blanket, they hadn’t eaten all day.
Most people looked away.
Some pretended not to see them.
Then a waitress stopped.
She knelt beside them and offered them a warm meal.
The older boy immediately shook his head.
“We don’t have any money,” he said, trying to protect his little brother.
The waitress smiled.
“Who said anything about money?”
A few moments later, the boy was fighting back tears.
Before she left, she asked him to make one promise:
“When you’re older, help someone who’s having a hard day too.”
The boy quietly nodded.
What nobody standing there knew was that this wasn’t the end of their story.
Ten years later, something happened that would bring tears back to the waitress’s eyes.
And the promise that little boy made on a freezing afternoon would finally come full circle…
