Chapter 10 - The Bloodline

I handed the precious platinum ring directly to the lead FBI technician sitting at the main terminal.

The agent quickly extracted the microdot and initiated a secure, encrypted data transfer.

I stood beside Marco and watched the progress bar rapidly fill with green light.

“The data is officially secured at federal headquarters, Mr. Vance,” the technician announced proudly.

“We have enough evidence to immediately freeze all of your father’s global syndicate accounts.”

I felt a massive, crushing weight completely lift off my exhausted shoulders.

We had actually won the war against my father’s seemingly invincible criminal empire.

I watched Sofia gently rocking Rosie back and forth on a small, comfortable cot in the corner of the room.

The immediate, deadly threat to my life and my estate was finally neutralized.

I walked over to a small table to pour myself a much-needed cup of black coffee.

Rosie’s bright yellow backpack was sitting on the table, slightly unzipped from our chaotic escape.

A folded white envelope was sticking out of the front pocket, bearing a prominent medical logo.

I carefully pulled the envelope out, assuming it was just a standard pediatric vaccination record.

I opened the flap and pulled out a highly classified, official genetic testing report.

My eyes rapidly scanned the scientific data, forcefully stopping on the final, conclusive paragraph.

The DNA test explicitly proved that Sofia was absolutely not Rosie’s biological mother.

The terrifying results clearly stated that I, Damian Vance, was the undeniable biological father of the child.

I stared at the medical paper in pure, suffocating horror, because I had absolutely zero memory of this child's existence before she was hired as a housekeeper three years ago.

Sofia slowly stood up from the cot, pulling a suppressed pistol from her jacket and aiming it directly at my heart.
